Display card overview

Display cards let you see changes and trends in your business metrics over time. They are filled with historical data that can be grouped to show how segments of your business are affecting the overall trend.

In addition to this, display cards are able to show multiple metrics side by side so you can compare how one metric has affected another.

Changing a metric

You can change the primary metric on a display card in two ways. The easiest way is to click directly on the current metric on the front of the card. A drop-down menu will appear and you can select any metric from the list.

The data displayed on the card will refresh and show the newly selected metric.

The second way to change your primary metric is from the card settings menu.

  1. Navigate to the three-dot menu in the top right of any card

  2. Click "Card settings"

  3. Select the "Data Series" tab

  4. Under "Primary data series" there is a metric drop-down. Select this menu and select the metric you wish to see

  5. Save your changes

Grouping data

Display cards allow data to be grouped by any of the filters in the filter bar. Want to see which product lines are driving your profitability or how your TaCOS % is different between regions? You're in the right place.

Changing a cards "grouped by" settings

You can change the "grouped by" settings on a display card in two ways. The easiest way is to click directly on the current "grouped by" option on the front of the card. A drop-down menu will appear and you can select any option from the list.

The data displayed on the card will refresh and show the newly selected "grouped by" option.

The second way to change your "grouped by" selection is from the card settings menu.

  1. Navigate to the three-dot menu in the top right of any card

  2. Click "Card settings"

  3. Select the "Data series" tab

  4. Under "Primary data series" there is a "grouped by" drop-down. Select this menu and select the "grouped by" option you wish to see

  5. Save your changes

Card Filters

Card filters enable you to create dashboards that contain cards with different filters applied to each of them. For example, you might want to have a card that's just for Germany data on your EU business review dashboard or a card that's filtered to just the new variation you just launched on your product line overview dashboard. This is how you can do that.

  1. Navigate to the three-dot menu in the top right of any card

  2. Click "Settings"

  3. You're now on the "card filters" tab of card settings

  4. You can update any of the available filters here.

Note: Updating card filter settings will only affect the filter for that card. All other cards on the dashboard will continue to be filtered by the filter bar at the top of the dashboard.

Same as dashboard

In all card filter dropdowns, you'll see an option called "Same as dashboard".

  • With this checked, your card will "follow" any changes made to the filter bar on the dashboard.

  • With this box unchecked, updates to the filters on the dashboard will no longer update the filters on this card.

Chart Types

Display cards can display their data in six different ways:

  • Line: Each data series is an independent line on the chart

  • Bar: Each data series is an independent bar placed next to each other on the chart

  • Stacked Bar: Each data series is a section of a single bar representing each time period

  • Area: Data series are stacked on top of each other to show changes

  • Percentage Area: An area chart where each data series is shown as a percentage of the total for each time period

  • Percentage Bar: A bar chart where each data series is shown as a percentage of the total for each time period

Changing chart types

To change the chart type on your display card complete the following steps:

  1. Navigate to the three-dot menu in the top right of any card

  2. Click "Settings"

  3. Click on the "Data Series" tab

  4. Find the "Chart Type" dropdown and select it

  5. Choose the chart type you'd like to have your card updated to

  6. Click save

Time Grouping

All display cards have time as their x-axis. The amount of time in each period can be updated to display as many time periods as you'd like. To update this follow the instructions below:

  1. Navigate to the three-dot menu in the top right of any card

  2. Click "Settings"

  3. You're now on the "card filters" tab of card settings

  4. Find the "Time grouping" dropdown and select it

  5. Choose the time grouping you'd like

  6. Click save

Data series customization

Each data series on a display card can be modified in a few ways. As you update the metric or grouped by settings on a data series the data series options will change accordingly.

Title: Updates the label for that data series on that card

Color: Updates the color for the data series

Disable: Removes the data from that data series from the card. Check/Uncheck the box next to any data series.

To update a data series setting, navigate to card settings and select the "data series" tab. Find the appropriate "data series" that you'd like to modify.

Adding a secondary metric

Display cards allow for multiple metrics to be displayed side by side on the same card. To add a secondary metric follow the instructions below:

  1. Navigate to the three-dot menu in the top right of any display card

  2. Click "Settings"

  3. Select the "data series" tab

  4. Scroll down until you see a button titled "+ secondary data series"

  5. Click that button and proceed to update the metric to the desired settings

  6. Click save
